Title: Excellent read
Content: I have read Peter Bleksley books before. What a man. He has put his life on the line many times to help catch these wrong doers. I couldn’t stop reading this book until I finished it in 3 days. Hope you catch these people one day soon.

Title: Alistair Wilson Murder ( Nairn Doorstep killing )
Content: I have always been a bit in love with the Region - we used to visit it in our adolescence - and it was just so different from growing up in a Glasgow Housing scheme. Studies and career took me away from Glasgow , Moray and Scotland for manies a long Year. When this dreadful incident happened I couldn't quite believe that such evil could take place here in a quiet backwater and that it had some of the hallmarks of a ' Contract ' or paramilitary style shooting. It was more consistent with a Glasgow gangland slaying ( Frank McPhie sniper shooting comes to mind ). Peter Bleksley makes it a good read. Not a Stranger Beside Me or In Cold Blood but good value for money type read and having spent years reading true crime books and was generally engaging. I know it's very difficult to reach any sort of real conclusion especially when there are potentially a lot of strands that have been either poorly investigated or probably never investigated at all. Good old Police - they are universally incompetent. In my experience of reading about crime they are rarely objective or dare I say even rational. They seem globally unable to accept there answers may be far more local. But hey ho this is about the book. The only thing I wasn't feeling was some of the possible leads of theories involving everything from Livingston FC to a local family who were a bit rough and ready ( hardly the ideal background for perpetrating a Contract style shooting & disposal of evidence etc.). Although the author may have used some of this as a sort of camouflage to bury his other more logical and possibly staring you in the face methods and motivation ( as well as opportunity ). Amazingly two men were witnessed with a handgun on Nairn beach in the weeks leading up to the killing yet Police Scotland seem to have ignored this. I feel this unsolved case will come to some sort of conclusion sooner rather than later and if something comes of all these ongoing investigatios.

Title: Good insight into a troubling case
Content: As a fan of his "Manhunt" BBC podcast, which is seeking to find a fugitive called Kevin Parle, I went back to this book and found that he was just as immersed, committed and thorough in his approach in trying to get justice for Alistair Wilson's family. Like the podcast, it is easy to get involved in the story and is ultimately frustrating that the killer hasn't yet been found. We need people like Peter out there trying to help our under-resourced police forces up and down the country, and i hope his work does help them to "catch a killer".

Title: Not really gripping
Content: The book is a little repetitive and becomes slightly boring.

Title: A thoroughly good read!
Content: This book is long overdue and credit to the author for his patience and perseverance in putting it together. A tragic case and I'm glad to see its back in the headlines thanks to this book. Special mention to the now defunct Northern Constabulary . Hamish MacBeth would be proud of you lot! Pretty shocking that 15 years later we are no further forward in getting this case solved but the author has certainly offered good for thought. 9/10 but only because he hasn't solved it...Yet!
