Title: Bit odd .
Content: Bit of a strange book this one . It took me till halfway through it to "suss out " what was going on . I must admit I enjoyed his other books more .

Title: Dark and intense
Content: I'd previously read several other books by Pierre Lemaitre, including his trilogy 'The Paris Crime Files', and I thought all of them were well-written, with plenty of action and complicated plots. However, I felt 'Three Days and a Life' was somewhat disappointing. Events in the first half of the book are set in a small French village during Christmas 1999. The main character is Antoine, a 12 year old boy living with his single mother. The village is in turmoil following the unexplained disappearance of a small boy, Remi, followed soon after by an intense storm which causes considerable damage. The narrative then jumps forward to 2012, when Antoine has left the village and is training to be a doctor. When his mother falls ill he is forced to return to the village and another key moment in his life occurs. Finally, the narrative moves to 2015, and Antoine has qualified and returned to be the village doctor. 'Three Days and a Life' is dark and intense - it's not badly written, but I didn't find much that was enjoyable in it either.

Title: Tpo Quality Storytelling and Prose
Content: As usual high quality prose from a great writer, and a great storyteller. I'll re-read this book for the beauty of the prose.

Title: Not Camille but enjoyable
Content: Not quite as good as the Camille series but still really enjoyed this. It got a bit bogged down at the storm but the ending is great.
